Rachel Maddow in for Keith Olbermann

Watch. She's not "Obama-biased" like Keith Olbermann. And she's awesome.

Re: Rachel Maddow in for Keith Olbermann (2.00 / 4)

Why haven't they given her her own show already?

I hope she replaces David Gregory (2.00 / 2)

God. That guy is just a weirdo.

Replaces him after November (2.00 / 3)

Since it's the "Race for the White House".

Might even be possible. This is the second or third time she's filled in for Keith and I think they're testing her abilities to hold her own in an hour format.

I like this (2.00 / 1)

She's quite good so far. I enjoy her as a commentator, but she's even better as a host.  It's interesting how she takes on some of the Olbermann vocal cadences while reading the stories.

Re: I like this (2.00 / 1)

Yeah, I've noticed that too.  It's one of the reasons I like her bast of all of his occasional guest hosts.

She's smart, she's capable, she speaks well (, and yeah, she's great looking.)  They should give her a show & boot Abrams.

Exactly. (2.00 / 1)

When she's doing Keith's show, it's Keith's producers writing the script (right down to the "Andrew Jackson" screwup) and determining the content.

She had some interesting things to say about her relationship with MSNBC in last week's "On The Media", a WNYC/NPR radio program.

You can find audio and/or a transcript of the interview here.

When she has her own show I will take a look.
I am still not shopping at Circut City or watching KO. (even if he is not on his own show)

She's doing well. (2.00 / 2)

Shit-can either David Gregory or Dan Abrams and give her the show.

She's seriously the most astute mind on the channel. Owns Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan every time they open their yappers.

Re: She's doing well. (2.00 / 2)

Ah, but if she had her own show she couldn't be a commenter on other programs. Scarborough and Buchanan would then roam the plains unchecked :)

Rofl. (2.00 / 2)

I love that. Roam the plains unchecked. They're as dense as bison or cattle, really.

Pat basically got away with "the Silent Minority" bullshit the day before against Chris Matthews and I wish Rachel had been there to put that asshat down.

One of the most despicable moments I've heard from Buchanan yet, and that's saying something.

Aww c'mon, you gotta love Uncle Pat!  Every pundit-laden cable show has to have at least one angry finger-wagging curmudgeon panelist.  I'll take his wobbly rants over Lou Dobbs any day.

Re: Rachel Maddow in for Keith Olbermann (2.00 / 1)

I like Rachel more in an argumentative format. When she use to appear to Tucker Carlson's "The Situation" she was at her best--often convincing Tucker he was wrong. So, if she gets her own show, I'd prefer some more like that than Keith's format (which isn't adversarial at all).

And, responding to your comment above, I like Dan Abrams. I don't care for David Gregory. So, I'd prefer them to ditch Gregory.

Re: Rachel Maddow in for Keith Olbermann (2.00 / 1)

I should add that I think she's doing a good job, though, in Keith's format. I just like to see her go toe-to-toe with conservatives and other idiotic pundits. She has an aptitue for blowing holes in their poorly informed conventional wisdom.

Hah. She just got that wrong. It was Andrew Johnson, not Jackson.

Ha. I like Chris Matthews a bit more after yesterday's slamming.

Really awesome.

I think that pretty much ruins Kevin James' career, if there was ever to be one. While it's sad to think in such stark terms, once you get passed it, the guy shouldn't be allowed near a mic. Absolutely vitriolic and a typical radio host who shils the Right-wing talking points.

by soyousay on Fri May 16, 2008 at 08:58:48 PM EST

What? (2.00 / 1)

....what? No, seriously, what? She's one of the few on MSNBC who say Senator Clinton is still in the race and has a great chance to be nominated.

She's very evenhanded, very fair and very gay :).

But no really - she's awesome. And I hope you're being sarcastic. Because she's really the most impartial person on that channel.
